Selection of Companies for Importation, Storage, Distribution and Sale of Petroleum Products in Sri Lanka, on Long-Term Contracts

- The Cabinet at its meeting held on 2022‑06‑27 has granted approval to call for Expression of Interest for importation, storage, distribution and sale of petroleum products on long term contracts. Accordingly, 26 companies have made their proposals and the Technical Evaluation Committee and the Cabinet Appointed Special Committee have recommended 13 companies with qualifications to submit Request for Proposals. As such, 07 companies have submitted detailed proposals. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Power and Energy to enter into Agreements with the following companies for importation, storage, distribution and sale of petroleum products in Sri Lanka as per the provisions of the Petroleum Products (Special Provisions) (Amended) Act, No.33 of 2022, based on the recommendations submitted by the Technical Evaluation Committee and the Cabinet Appointed Special Committee and the Procurement Appeal Board on the said proposals, was approved by the Cabinet.
