Entering into an Agreement between the Human Resources Development Service of Korea and the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka to Strengthen Technical Vocational Education and Training Sector

- The Human Resources Development Service of Korea under the purview of the Ministry of Employment and Labour of the Republic of Korea has expressed its willingness to provide a grant of 2.15 billion of Korean Won for upgrading and capacity building of the National Vocational Training Institute at Niyagama operating under the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka. The proposed project has been planned to be implemented for a period of two years commencing from the year 2023 and for the purpose it has been proposed to enter into an Agreement between the Human Resources Development Service of Korea and the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka. The clearance of the Attorney General and the concurrence of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Department of External Resources have been received for the draft Agreement. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Education to sign the proposed Agreement, was approved by the Cabinet.
