Submission of the Order enacted under the provisions of the Export Developmet Act, No.40 of 1979 to Parliament for approval

- Taking into account the impact of depreciation ofrupee and the global market price/ cost and CIF value, the specific unit rates of the CESS levy on selected goods under HS Code 677 has been revised, and for that the Order imposed under section 14 of the Sri Lanka Export Development Act No.40 of 1979 has been published through the Gazette Extraordinary Notification dated 2022‑11‑14. Such Order imposed as per the provisions of the said Act should be submitted to Parliament for approval within 04 months from the date of its promulgation. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Hon. President in his capacity as the Minister of Investment Promotion to submit the said Order which has been published through Gazette Extraordinary Notification dated 2022‑11‑14, to Parliament for approval, was approved by the Cabinet.
