Entering into an Agreement between the 'Sight for All' Company of Australia and the Ministry of Health

- The 'Sight for All', Community Project Institute of Australia has extended its willingness to donate medical and surgical eye equipment to the eye units of the selected hospitals in Sri Lanka and provide a grant to enhance skills of health staff. Under that, it is expected to secure modern health facilities required for ocular surgeries in Provincial General Hospital Badulla, Teaching hospitals of Ratnapura, Batticaloa and Kalubowila and the Base Hospital of Tangalle and to enhance the skills of Eye Health Workers and to upgrade equipment of the regional eye units. A grant of Rs. 92.44 million will be receivedunder these projects. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Health to enter into an Agreement between the 'Sight for All', Community Project Institute of Australia and the Ministry of Health to obtain the proposed grant, was approved by the Cabinet.
