Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2023-02-13

Grant provided under Japanese, Economic and Social Development Programme to enhance health care delivery system while ensuring essential services and transport facilities of the Health Sector in Sri Lanka

- Taking into consideration the current economic crisis prevailing in Sri Lanka, the Government of Japan has agreed to provide a grant of Japanese Yen 05 billion (approximately 38 US$ million) for the supply of fuel (mainly diesel) to ensure the continuance of essential and emergency health services without any hindrance under the Japanese, Economic and Social Development Programme. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Hon. President in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies to enter into the relevant Agreements to obtain the said grant, was approved by the Cabinet.
