Memorandum of Understanding for the Establishment of the Bangladesh - Sri Lanka Joint Consultative Commission

- It has been proposed to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding to establish the Bangladesh - Sri Lanka Joint Consultative Commission with the aim of promoting, strengthening and expanding bilateral relations including political, economic, technological & scientific, consular and cultural cooperation between the two countries. The proposed Consultative commission would function as a mechanism of reviewing and evaluating all areas of ongoing bilateral cooperation at the Foreign Ministers level of both countries and exploring new areas of cooperation. Clearance of the Attorney General has been received for the proposed draft MoU. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs to sign the said MoU was approved by the Cabinet.
