Submission of Regulations made under the Welfare Benefits Act, No.24 of 2002 and the Electronic Transactions Act, No.19 of 2006 for the process of payment of welfare benefits for the approval of Parliament

- As per provisions of Section 27 of Welfare Benefits Act, No.24 of 2002, the Welfare Benefit Payment Payment(Selection of Persons Eligible to Receive Payments) Regulations No.01 of 2022 have been published through the Gazette Extraordinary Notification dated 2022‑10‑20.Also enabling the preparation of electronic documents, electronic records and the maintenance of a related information system in order to carry out the functions and duties of the Welfare Benefits Act, No.24 of 2002, the Integrated Welfare Management System Regulations No.02 of 2002 under the Electronic Transactions Act, No.19 of 2006, have been published in the Gazette Extraordinary dated 2022‑11‑29. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Hon. President in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies to submit the said regulations to the Parliament for approval, was approved by the Cabinet.
