Agreement between the Takamol of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission of Sri Lanka for the Skills Verification Programme

- The Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission coming under the Ministry of Education and the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau with co-ordination of the relevant stakeholders and liaising with Qualification Verification Authorities in Foreign Countries implement a programme to equalize the qualifications of Sri Lankan skilled workers with foreign countries. It will pave the way for migrant workers to join overseas jobs with higher value, respect and greater economic benefits. Accordingly, it has been proposed to enter into an Agreement between Takamol for Business Services, Government owned company under the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission. Clearance of the Attorney General and the concurrence of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been received for the draft Agreement. As such the proposal made by the Minister of Education to sign the relevant Agreement, was approved by the Cabinet.
