Entering into an Agreement for the Provision of Research Services between the Industrial Technology Institute and the University of Sydney, Australia

- The International Food Policy Research Institute located at Washington DC of the United States of America together with the University of Sydney, Australia have entered into an agreement with the Consortium of International Agricultural Research Centres System Organization to conduct research on the Fruits and Vegetables for Sustainable Healthy Diets Initiative in collaboration with Benin, Philippines and Tanzania and Sri Lanka. Under the said research programme, the Industrial Technology Institute has been selected by the University of Sydney to conduct several research services on the current status of post harvest management and food safety in Sri Lanka. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Industries to sign for a Sub‑Contract Agreement between the Industrial Technology Institute and the University of Sydney, Australia in order to secure funds amounting to AUD 11,250, was approved by the Cabinet.
