Freezing 6% of the Recurrent Provisions in the Government Expenditure Estimates approved for the year 2023

- The Cabinet at its meeting held on 2023‑01‑09 decided to freeze 5% of recurrent provisions in the Government Expenditure Estimates approved for year 2023 enabling to control the Government expenditure within the limited fiscal space and to ensure adequate financial provisions for essential and key functions. In order to implement this decision, the strategies expected to be taken by the General Treasury were submitted to the Cabinet by the Hon. President in his capacity as the Minister of Finance,Economic Stabilization and National policies. Accordingly, the Cabinet decided at the discussion held, to freeze 6% of recurrent provisions in the approved Government Expenditure Estimates, instead of 5% from the recurrent provisions and to allocate an amount equivalent to 1% out of which to the Ministry of Health as additional provisions for purchasing essential pharmaceuticals.
