The Central Bank of Sri Lanka Bill

- The Cabinet at its meeting held on 2019‑10‑29 has granted approval to prepare the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Bill. The Central Bank of Sri Lanka Bill prepared so has been published in the Government Gazette on 2019‑11‑01 and although it has been submitted to Parliament for approval, it has not been placed on the Order paper. The preliminary draft has been developed incorporating new amendments enabling to fulfill the duties of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka effectively and efficiently to be suited with the present day needs. Accordingly, the draft Bill prepared by the Legal Draftsman has been submitted to the Cabinet by the Hon. President in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies and it was decided to grant approval to the said Bill.
