Entering into a relevant Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Ksapa Company in France for implementation of the Capacity Building Project for 6,000 Rubber Smallholders

- The Ksapa Company in France with the financial assistance of the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Recovery of the Government of France and the Michelin Group in France, under the guidance of the Ministry of Plantation Industries has designed to implement the "Rubber Improvement of Value Chain & Embedded Smallholders Resilience Project" to increase the economic strength of 6,000 rubber smallholders in the rubber growing areas of Badalkumbura and Medagama in the Monaragala district. The proposed project has been recommended by the Department of National Planning and the total cost of the project has been estimated as Euro 726,700. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Plantation Industries to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding for the implementation of the project, was approved by the Cabinet.
