Entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Sri Lanka Export Development Board and the Swiss Import Promotion Programme (SIPPO)

- It has been proposed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the Swiss Import Promotion Programme which operates under the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of Switzerland and the Sri Lanka Export Development Board to carry out a comprehensive study for export products such as processed food, sustainable fish and seafood and value added textiles. The purpose of the proposed study is to expand the opportunities for Sri Lankan export goods to access the European market. A sum of 100,000 Swiss Francs is incurred by the Swiss Import Promotion Program for the study. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Hon. President in his capacity as the Minister of Investment Promotion, to sign the proposed Memorandum of Understanding, was approved by the Cabinet.
