Singapore Convention on Mediation Bill

- United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements resulting from Mediation which is known as the Singapore Convention on Mediation was adopted on 2018 12 20 by the member countries at the United Nation's General Assembly. Sri Lanka also has signed the said Agreement on 2019 08 07. However, domestic legislation is required to be formulated to enact the said Agreement in Sri Lanka. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Justice, Prison Affairs and Constitutional Reforms to prepare a suitable Bill, taking into consideration the provisions in the relevant Convention, was approved by the Cabinet.
