Submission of the Appropriation Bill for the Financial Year 2023 to Parliament

- Approval of the Cabinet has been granted at its meeting held on 2022‑08‑22 to draft the Appropriation Bill for the financial year 2023. As such the Appropriation Bill for the year 2023 including the draft budget estimates of each Expenditure Head was considered by the Cabinet. The total Recurrent Expenditure has been estimated as Rs. 4,634 billion whereas the total Capital Expenditure has been estimated as Rs.3,245 billion. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Hon. President in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies, to publish the Appropriation Bill for the Year 2023 in the Government Gazette and thereafter, present the same in Parliament for approval, was approved by the Cabinet.
