Support to Integrated Rural Development in the Most Vulnerable Districts of the Central and Uva Provinces of Sri Lanka

- The European Union has granted EUR 30 million to implement the “Support to Integrated Rural Development in the Most Vulnerable Districts of the Central and Uva Provinces” and the agreement for the purpose has been signed on 2016‑03‑16. Accordingly, the project duration is to be expire on 2024‑06‑15. However, owing to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic and the the prevailing economic crisis in the country, delays have caused in implementing the project. As such, the proposal made by the Hon. President in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies to extend the project implementation period and the execution period of the grant agreement until 2025‑06‑15, was approved by the Cabinet.
