Procurement of Urea for the Maha Season 2022/23

- In accordance with the Cabinet decision dated 2022‑06‑07, the relevant procurement process has been implemented for the procurement of Urea fertilizer for the Maha Season 2022/23. Although, it was planned to procure 150,000 MT of Urea under the said procurement, the bidder recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee has submitted bids for the supply of only 12,500MT of Urea fertilizer. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Agriculture to award the contract for the purchase of the said stock of urea fertilizer and to re-invite bids to purchase another 125,000 MT of Urea fertilizer expeditiously adopting the Electronic Procurement Procedure, was approved by the Cabinet.
