Revising the tasks assigned to the State Timber Corporation Act according to the needs of the time

- The State Timber Corporation has been established by the Gazette Notification dated 1968‑04‑04 under the provisions of the Government Industrial Corporation Act, No.49 of 1957. The need to amend the functions of the said Corporation to cater to the present day requirements has been identified. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Wildlife and Forest Resources Conservation to amend the present scope of the State Timber Corporation, to cater to the present day requirements, was approved by the Cabinet.
