Issuance of One Time Visa to the Tourists visiting Sri Lanka for a period of one year
- In terms of the existing provisions, a tourist who visits Sri Lanka can be issued a Single Entry visa enabling him to be stayed in Sri Lanka for a period of 270 days from the date of his arrival to this country. Further, under the existing Visa Fee System, a tourist must pay an amount of US$ 685 in obtaining a visa to stay in this country for a period of one year. Taking those matters also into consideration, the proposal made by the Hon. Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of Investment Promotion to take necessary action for the issuance of One Time Visa for tourists for a period of one year under Multiple Entry with the permission of Electronic Travel Authorization, subject to the maximum number of days that can stay in the country at one time is 90 days and for the purpose to charge an amount of US$ 200 for a period of one year as charged for Business and Resident Visas, was approved by the Cabinet.
