Implementation of the Food Security and Livelihood Recovery Emergency Assistance Project

- A project has been planned to implement by the name of “Food Security and Livelihood Recovery Emergency Assistance Project” anticipating to ensure the food security and livelihood of poor and vulnerable. Surplus funds available in several ongoing projects funded by the Asian Development Bank is expected to be re-purposed and utilized for the said project. In addition, the Japan Fund for Prosperous and Resilient Asia and Pacific has extended its willingness to grant a US$ 3 million through the Asian Development Bank for the purpose of financing the project activities. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Hon. President in his capacity as the Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and National Policies to conduct negotiations with the Asian Development Bank to secure funds for the project and to enter into relevant agreements, was approved by the Cabinet.
