Granting incentives to Migrant employees for sending remittances through legal channels

- A Committee has been appointed as per the Cabinet decision dated 2022‑06‑27 to examine matters pertaining to the concessions and incentives to be provided to increase the remittances granted by migrant employees as a remedy to the existing foreign exchange crisis in the country and submit recommendations. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment to grant an allowance of additional duty concession when arriving the relevant migrant employees to the country based on the foreign exchange remitted to the country through legal channels and facilitate them to buy a electric vehicle, as per the recommendations submitted through the above Official's Committee Report, was approved by the Cabinet.
