Treaty on Extradition between the Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates

- The Treaty on Extradition has been signed in the year 2014 between the Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates with the intention of strengthening judicial corporation in the field of extradition. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E the President in his capacity as the Minister of Defence to rectify the said Treaty on Extradition by re-amending the Provisions of section 5(1) of the said Treaty to suit with the legal system of both countries and to submit the same thereafter to Parliament as per the provisions of the Extradition Law No.8 of 1978, was approved by the Cabinet.
