Implementation of a Mixed Development Project within the Anuradhapura Post Office Premises

- The Urban Settlement Development Authority has planned to implement a mixed development project in the land in extent of 99 perches where the Anuradhapura post office is located. The Postal Department has extended its willingness to release the said land, subject to obtaining a new office premises for the said Department to suit to the present value of the land. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Urban Development and Housing to acquire the said land to the Urban Settlement Development Authority as a free grant, in terms of the section 6(1) of the State Land Ordinance and implement the said project as a Public-Private Partnership project having selected a suitable investor by calling for Expression of Interest under national or international competitive bidding procedure, was approved by the Cabinet.
