Conservation and Promotion of Angam Martial Art

- The Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs has taken action to promote Angam Martial Arts which is significant as a traditional sport in the country, a Martial Art as well as a cultural heritage. Even though, approval of the Cabinet has been granted in the year 2019 to lift the ban imposed on the Angampora Martial Art, the relevant Gazette Notification has not yet been published. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs to publish the removal of ban imposed by the English Colonial rulers, through a Gazette Notification in view of conserving and protecting Angampora Martial Art, was approved by the Cabinet.
