Amendment of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board Law, No.2 of 1974

- The need to amend the National Water Supply and Drainage Board Law No. 2 of 1974 has been identified so as to address the present and future challenges in the field of water supply. Accordingly, approval of the Cabinet was granted at its meeting held on 2021 07 12 to appoint a committee headed by the Secretary, Ministry of Water Supply to prepare a preliminary draft for the purpose. As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Water Supply to instruct the Legal Draftsman to draft legislation, based on the preliminary draft prepared by the said committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
