Email and Collaboration Platform for the Digital Government

- Creation of a Technology Based Society (Smart Nation) is one of the key objectives of the National Policy Framework of the Government. Under this, setting up of a Citizen Centric Digital Government and digitally empowered economy have been identified as strategies for achieving the vision of the Government. As such, it has been identified the necessity of creating a secured Communication Platform of which the capacity is scalable and suits with the present needs for the use of Government offices. Under this, it has been planned to implement a comprehensive E‑mail and Collaboration Solution Platform which is centrally governed and specially employed for the use of the Government. As such, the proposal made by H.E. the President in his capacity as the Minister of Technology to start 100,000 E‑mail and Collaborative Solution User Accounts for the Government Institutions under this arrangement and take necessary action to start 30,000 User Accounts expeditiously as its first phase, was approved by the Cabinet.
