Establishment of the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC)

- The Government of India has expressed its willingness to award a grant of US$ 6 million for the establishment of a Maritime Rescue Centre in Sri Lanka. As such, the proposal made by H.E. the President in his capacity as the Minister of Defence to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of Sri Lanka and the Government of India pertaining to the said grant and sign the Agreement between the Government of Sri Lanka and M/s Bharat Electronics Limited of India regarding the establishment of the said Centre, was approved by the Cabinet.
