Awarding of the Procurement for the purchase of surgical gauze required for the Other Health Institutions including the Government Hospitals for the year 2022

- It is a must to continuously purchase surgical gauze which is an essential surgical consumable for clinical work and surgery in Government hospitals, every year. Accordingly, the Medical Supplies Division is estimated to have a requirement of 30 million meters of surgical gauze for the year 2022. The Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee has recommended to purchase surgical gauze from 407 registered local suppliers at Rs.30.55 per meter. As per the said recommendation, the proposal made by the Minister of Health to award he said procurement to the recommended suppliers, was approved by the Cabinet.
