Leasing out a land plot belonging to the Sri Lanka Land Development Corporation, located in the Muthurajawela Industrial Zone

- An area of 400 acres belonging to the Sri Lanka Land Development Corporation, located in the Muthurajawela Industrial Zone has been developed by pumping sea sand. A number of blocks of land out of the said land have been vested with public and private sector investors for the projects of national importance. Emergent Cold (Pvt) Ltd has made a request to allocate a block of land from the said land for cold store facilities and the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka has informed that the said Company has fulfilled the basic qualifications under section 17 of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka Act, to obtain the relevant block of land. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of Urban Development & Housing to provide a block of land in the extent of 04 Acres 02 Roods that has been identified as appropriate for the proposed project, to the said Company for a period of 30 years on long term lease basis, was approved by the Cabinet.
