Extension of visa period for the Russian and Ukrainian tourists staying in Sri Lanka

- Currently, 11,463 Russian tourists and 3,993 Ukrainian tourists are staying in the country. Given the political crisis that has been developed between Russia and Ukraine, it has been difficult for them to return to their home countries. Therefore, taking into consideration the prevailing condition, the proposal made by the Minister of Tourism to extend the visa period of the said tourists for a period of two (02) months free of charge, was approved by the Cabinet.
