Market-Oriented Dairy (MOD) Project

- With a view to utilizing the best practices to improve the productivity of the dairy manufacturers and the quality of their products, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has agreed to provide financial assistance to implement a Market‑Oriented Dairy (MOD) Project. The said Department has also agreed to provide funds required for this project up to September 2024. It has been planned through the proposed project to continue their capacity building programmes with 38 key stakeholders in the Government and Private Dairy Manufacturing Sector. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Agriculture to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the United States Department of Agriculture and the Ministry of Agriculture of Sri Lanka for the implementation of the proposed project, was approved by the Cabinet.
