False Propaganda on Subjecting the Employees' Provident Fund and the Employees' Trust Fund to a Surcharge Tax

- Cabinet was apprised by the Minister of Finance that the proposal brought forward by him through the Budget for the year 2022 regarding subjecting the individuals and Companies whose net profit exceeds 2,000 million pertaining to the year 2021, to a Surcharge Tax of 25%, does not involve the Employees' Provident Fund and the Employees' Trust Fund. As such, the Minister of Finance further informed the Cabinet that there is no solid basis for the objections raised by certain parties in this regard.
