Strengthening Sri Lanka Climate Fund (Private) Limited functioning under purview of the Ministry of Environment

- It has been reported through the Nationally Determined Contributions submitted to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change that the Government of Sri Lanka had taken a policy decision to convert Sri Lank a Carbon Net Zero Country by 2050. Sri Lanka Climate Fund (Private) Limited functioning under purview of the Ministry of Environment has been established to contribute the tasks of minimizing the greenhouse gas emission. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Environment to take necessary action to structurally strengthen the duties and functions of the said Institute to meet the present-day needs enabling to obtain the maximum contribution to convert Sri Lanka a Carbon Net Zero Country, was approved by the Cabinet.
