Awarding of contracts under the Mahaweli Water Security Investment Programme

- The Mahaweli Water Security Investment Programme has been scheduled as 21 contract packages in order to implement the said programme more efficiently and expeditiously. Out of 21 packages construction work of 06 packages have already been completed and the construction work of remaining 06 packages are being carried out. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Irrigation to award the contracts relating to the remaining 09 contract packages to the contractors selected through the international competitive bidding procedure, was approved by the Cabinet.
