Amendment to the Drug Dependent Persons (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act, No. 54 of 2007

- The Drug Dependent Persons (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act, No. 54 of 2007 includes the provisions pertaining to the treatment and rehabilitation of drug dependent persons. It has been identified that the provisions containing in the said Act need to be amended to meet the present day requirements. Accordingly, the joint proposal made by H.E the President in his capacity as the Minister of Defence and the Minister of Justice to instruct the Legal Draftsman to prepare a draft Bill for the same, was approved by the Cabinet.
