Transfer of the Health Institutions in the Estate Sector to the Provincial Health Authorities

- With a view to providing a more productive health service to the estate sector community, it has been found appropriate to transfer the health institutions in the estate sector to the Provincial Health Authorities. Accordingly, an Officials Committee has been appointed to submit recommendations on the measures to be taken in that regard, under the chairmanship of the Director General of Health Services and comprising of the representatives of other relevant institutions. As per the recommendation made by the said committee, the proposal made by the Minister of Health, to transfer 59 health institutions from among the 450 institutions located in the estate sector to the Provincial Health Authorities, as its firs phase, was approved by the Cabinet.
