Amending the Workmen's Compensation Ordinance (Chapter 139) No.19 of 1934

- Approval of the Cabinet has been granted to draft a Bill to amend the Workmen's Compensation Ordinance (Chapter 139) No.19 of 1934 to update the amount of compensation paid to workmen injured in accidents while on duty to suit to the present day requirements. Accordingly, the clearance of the Attorney General has been received for the Bill prepared by the Legal Draftsman and therefore, the proposal made by the Minister of Labour to publish the said bill in the Government Gazette and thereafter, to present the same in Parliament for approval, was approved by the Cabinet.
