Selling Housing Units of 'Metro Homes Residencies' Housing Project, Slave Island, Colombo 02, on freehold basis

- Constructions of residential and commercial units for the original occupants of the block of land identified under the first phase of the Slave Island Redevelopment Project implemented by the Urban Development Authority have now been completed. A building complex comprising of 626 residential units with three towers and 115 commercial units have been constructed under that and it has been named as ''Metro Homes Residencie''. Approval of the Board of Management of the Urban Development Authority has been received to sell the rest of 78 units at the valuation of the Chief Government Valuer on the priority basis based on the the current market value after the settlement of the original occupants of the relevant units. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Hon. Prime Minister in his capacity as the Minister of Urban Development and Housing to provide Freehold Deeds to the buyers who have paid due value from among the selected applicants, was approved by the Cabinet.
