Entering into a Memorandum of Understanding between the Open University of Sri lanka and the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI)

- A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the mutual collaboration has been entered into between the Open University of Sri lanka and the International Rice Research Institute on 19 October 2017 with a view to promoting activities such as developing courses suitable for open and distance learning methods relating to Rice Science and related fields of study, organizing institute member and research member exchange programmes, conducting joint research projects and organizing of seminars, exchanging research, publications and information. Both parties have come to an agreement to sign a new MoU by extending the period of time of the above MoU for 03 years. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Education to sign the relevant MoU, was approved by the Cabinet.
