Establishment of the Cardiology Unit in the District General Hospital of Ampara

- The number of heart patients and deaths due to heart attacks has gradually increased in Ampara district within the past few years. In view of controlling this condition, it is essential to develop the physical resources available at the Ampara General Hospital to provide more effective treatment services to the heart patients arriving to receive treatments. As such, it has been planned to establish a Cardiology Unit with Catheterization Laboratory at the Ampara General Hospital. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Health to award the said Project to the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau (CECB) on Design and Build basis, was approved by the Cabinet.
