Procurement of Container Handling Equipment for the East Container Terminal of the Sri lanka Ports Authority

- The Cabinet at its meeting held on 2021‑03‑29 has granted approval for the procurement of 14 nos. Ship to Shore Cranes, 40 nos. Automated Rail Mounted Gantry Cranes and 30 nos. Straddle Careers for the East Container Terminal of the Sri lanka Ports Authority. Bids have been invited for this by following the International Competitive Bidding Procedure and 6 Bids have been received. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Ports and Shipping to award the procurement for the purchase of 12 Ship to Shore Cranes and 40 Automated Rail Mounted Gantry Cranes to the Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co Ltd as recommended by the Procurement Appeal Board, was approved by the Cabinet.
