Procurement of Machineries for the proposed two (02) Eco-Friendly Bio-Organic Fertilizer Factories to be constructed at the Pelwatta and Sevanagala Units of Lanka Sugar Company (Pvt.) Ltd

- The Cabinet at its meeting held on 2021‑09‑13 has granted approval for the implementation of the project for constructing two eco-friendly bio-organic fertilizer factories in Pelwatta and Sevanagala units of Lanka Sugar Company (Pvt) Ltd. Since the proposed organic fertilizer factories have not yet been operated in Sri Lanka, the machinery and plants required for the same have to be secured from a foreign manufacturer. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Plantations to secure the said machinery and plants from the Dongting Lake International, China following the Direct Procurement Procedure, was approved by the Cabinet.
