Submission of the Interim Report of the Committee appointed on Digital Banking, Blockchain Technology and Crypto-currency

- Approval of the Cabinet was granted at its meeting held on 2021‑10‑05 to appoint a Committee to submit recommendations to the Cabinet, on the possible laws and regulations for attracting investments to the Digital Banking, Blockchain Technology and Crypto‑currency related Companies. Accordingly, a Committee has been appointed comprising 8 members under the chairmanship of Mr. Sujeewa Mudalige. The Interim Report submitted by the said Committee was brought to the notice of the Cabinet at this meeting. As such, it was decided to grant its concurrence to the proposals made by the Minister of Development Co‑ordination and Monitoring, to submit the final report of the said Committee by 2022‑06‑30 and to appoint another two technical professionals working in the relevant field as its members to assist the Committee.
