Personal Data Protection Bill

- The Personal Data Protection Bill has been drafted to provide for ensuring the security of the personal data of institutions such as Government Institutions, banks, telephone facilities providers and hospitals in accumulating and using such data and developing the digital economy in Sri Lanka. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E. the President in his capacity of the Minister of Technology to publish the said Bill in the Government Gazette and submit the same thereafter in Parliament for approval, was approved by the Cabinet.
