Implementation of Tourism Promotional Campaigns aiming the upcoming Holiday Season
- In view of restoring tourism affected due to the COVID‑19 pandemic situation, during the tourism season of 2021/2022 and attracting tourists, collective efforts are being taken by all tourism related stakeholders including airlines. Approval of the Cabinet of Ministers has been previously granted to appoint Destination Representation Companies (DRC) and Public Relation (PR) Companies in key tourism markets for a period of 05 years as part of the Global Communication Campaigns to be implemented by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB). As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Tourism to implement a tourism promotion campaign targeting the United Kingdom, Germany and France which require special attention as tourism markets and India, the prominent source market in the region of Asia as an interim measure in the said Global Tourism Promotion Campaign, was approved by the Cabinet.
