Utilization of Warehouses/Buildings belonging to the Cooperative Wholesale Establishment for effective activities

- The warehouses/building premises belonging to the Cooperative Wholesale Establishment (CWE) have been provided to public institutions and also to the private sector. The Board of Directors of CWE has proposed to provide the warehouses/building premises not in use belonging to the said Corporation to private sector institutions on rent basis for shorter span, following the Government Procurement process. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Trade to rent the said warehouses/building premises to private sector institutions on rent basis for the value assessed by the Government Chief Valuer and provide such warehouses/building premises suitable for Public‑Private Partnership Investment Projects on long term lease basis by calling for Expressions of Interest (EoI), was approved by the Cabinet.
