Agreement between the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) and the Duke University (DUKE), USA

- Melioidosis, which is a bacteria infection, appears mostly in the tropical areas of the world. It has been proposed to enter into a Research Agreement between the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) and the Duke University (DUKE), USA, in view of early detection of the said disease in the country, understanding and controlling of the disease. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E. The President in his capacity as the Minister of Defence to enter into a Sub‑Award Agreement and a Material Transfer Agreement for the implementation of the proposed Research Agreement, was approved by the Cabinet.
