Implementation of the SPMC Lotus Pharma Project

- The Cabinet at its meeting held on 08 March 2021 has granted approval for the establishment of a Pharma Zone at Millewa, Horana and to appoint a Steering Committee to operate the activities pertaining to the implementation of the project, the approval of the Cabinet has been granted on 02 August 2021 to allocate a block of land in extent of 65 acres for the implementation of the said project. As such, the proposals made by the Minister of Health to take action to name the proposed Pharma Zone as 'SPMC Lotus Pharma Project' as per the recommendation of the Steering Committee appointed for the implementation of the said project and to select a suitable Consultancy Firm following the International Competitive Bidding Process for the same and to establish 03 factories to manufacture orthopedic and neurosurgical implants, anti-cancer medicines and oral solid dosage - general products by calling Expressions of Interest, were approved by the Cabinet.
