Transferring a Block of Land to Sri Lanka Institute of Biotechnology (Pvt) Ltd. in Homagama Pitipana area

- The Urban Development Authority has acquired a block of land in extent of 220 from Mahenwatta area in Pitipana, Homagama for the implementation of development projects on science, technology and related activities. At present, blocks of land from the said land have been allocated for various projects and a block of land in extent of 13 acres has been allotted from the same land for the construction of a Biotechnology Innovation Park. Nevertheless, constructions of the said Park has not yet been commenced. Sri Lanka Institute of Biotechnology (Pvt.) Ltd. a fully government owned Institution, coming under the purview of the State Ministry of Digital Technology and Enterprise Development has planned to establish a Technology Innovation Park and accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Urban Development and Housing to have the above block of land allocated to that purpose, was approved by the Cabinet.
