Re-construction of the Mahamodara Maternity Hospital

- The Government of Sri Lanka and the KfW Bank of Germany have signed a Loan Agreement of Euro 28 million to finance the Mahamodara Maternity Hospital Project and an additional Loan Agreement has been entered into with the said Bank thereafter, to obtain a Supplementary Loan of another Euro 13 million for the said project. The Government of Germany has agreed to convert the Supplementary Loan of Euro 13 million subsequently obtained, to a Grant, to enable to complete the activities of the project expeditiously. As such, the proposal made by the Minister of Finance to authorize the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance to enter into the relevant Grant Agreement, was approved by the Cabinet.
